The Braai Board – Shisanyama Plankie

R679.95

The Braai Board is a large wooden board made for slicing up large steak, boerewors, etc. while serving it up alongside braaibroodjies and other sides. It works perfectly as a sharing plate or for tapas in the middle of the table. You can even think of it as a Braai Platter, with dipping bowls. And the ideally placed grooves will catch all those meat juices.

The name Shisanyama (braai or barbeque) plankie is rooted in a South African Township. Shisanyama is a Zulu word, literally meaning “burn meat”, which refers to the way the meat is cooked over hot coals. It started off as a way for butchers to drive sales over the weekends, and today it’s one of South Africa’s most delicious and social ways of eating.
