This Mineral Woodcare Oil is a food-grade oil that absorbs easily and penetrates deeply into the grain of the wood to help protect, revitalize and moisturize the wood fibers. This also aids in the prevention of drying and cracking.
How to use your Mineral Woodcare Oil:
- Step 1 – Clean: Wipe your item down with soapy water and a cloth. Never submerge your wooden products in water. Wood is porous and it will soak up the water causing your cutting boards and wooden products to crack and warp!
- Step 2 – Let Dry: Be sure to include time for drying in your timing. Products like chopping boards especially must be completely dry before oiling.
- Step 3 – Oil: Once your item is dry apply some of the Mineral Woodcare Oil and spread it with a cloth or paper towel by rubbing in the direction of the grain (not against).
- Step 4 – Oil Soak: The oil should be left to soak into your wooden item for as long as possible.
- Step 5 – Buff/Polish: Use a dry clean cloth or paper towel to polish off any excess oil that has not penetrated into the wood. So that your item no longer feels damp or sticky.
